We are a small family owned thoroughbred stud/racing stable, maximum of 8 horses in work at any one time, 2 stallions standing and 1 ASH stallion (some ASH's as well that we break and put through sales)
We are looking for someone to ride work (gallops experience not essential, but an advantage), must be able to handle all levels of horses from foal handling to stallion handling. Able to handle yearlings, weanlings, foal imprinting, ride young horses, breaking in experience an advantage but not essential.
Ability to work alone and unsupervised.
Prefer some race track experience (strapping licence), to help out on race days.
Day to day duties include riding work, mucking out, feeding up, ruging, washing. Ability to help clipping.
In breeding season, helping out serving mare etc.
Feeding broodmares daily
Feeding stallions daily.
Drivers licence essential.
Must be good with kids!
Willing to help out around the house as well.
We are located in south west Queensland 2 hours west of Roma.
Live in accommodation but separate accommodation available soon on property (end of July we hope) OR shared house on neighboring property available (will need your own car to get to work if living on neighboring property)
Must be clean and tidy, motivated and NON SMOKER.
